I have a PC with hostname myhostpc
that is hosting a website in port 8000
. This PC is connected to the Wi-Fi hotspot of an Android phone, as well as another PC. From the other PC I can open that website writing http://myhostpc.local:8000
in the web browser. I can also open it writing http://<ip_address_of_myhostpc>:8000
.
Now, I want to open the website from the Android phone that is providing the hotspot connection. If I write http://<ip_address_of_myhostpc>:8000
in the web browser of the phone it opens the website perfectly fine. However, if I write http://myhostpc.local:8000
it cannot find it.
How can I open the website from the phone using the hostname instead of the IP address?
