I'm seeking advice on the best technology for developing a desktop app for Windows, utilizing PostgreSQL as the RDBMS. With two years of experience in both WPF and VCL Delphi, I'm torn between the two.
Here are some specifics about the project:
The app will have 10 modules and up to 100 forms with different types of reports.
- 70% of the users are in remote areas with very slow internet connection.
- The system needs to be very fast and responsive to user queries.
- The app needs to be compatible with Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, and 11.
- The solution should ideally be very portable or monolithic with minimal maintenance required on client PCs.
- A Windows desktop app is our only option.
